Toxin-free living made doable for the everyday American family

Like most Americans, I grew up on Mac N' Cheese, GO-Gurt, Frosted Flakes, pizza rolls, cheap laundry detergent, and Bath and Body Works soaps and lotions. The list goes on and on. It wasn't until years later when radical, social media "experts" started making a splash on the internet about our beloved American household brands being "hArMfUl" that I decided to do a deep dive for myself. after all... how bad could they be???

Hi, I’m Mikaela, and welcome to Living With Mik!

I’m so glad you’re here! My goal is to make healthy living feel simple, doable, and- most importantly- something you actually enjoy and take confidence in. I've compiled everything I've learned and practiced over the years and wrote an ebook jam packed full of all the resources, education, and clickable links that have changed my life- and I believe if implemented- could change yours too. Everything I share is backed by education and research along with third party certifications, so you don't have to take my word for it- I want you to have the facts. Another plus- everything I write is overlooked by a licensed physician- who also leaves his wealth of knowledge in periodic notes throughout all of our ebooks and literature.

I started the Living With Mik webpage, along with vlogging and writing, because I used to feel so overwhelmed by all the noise around “health and wellness.” I noticed a lot of social media content creators going all in on the subject- walking around barefoot, sewing their own organic clothes, building their own teepees (I'm slightly joking- although never say never)... but like most people, I needed something in the middle (a world where I could keep my lululemon but was willing to throw out my tide pods and teflon). Something I could control in my immediate environment- products and foods I could easily replace in my home to make things better for myself and my family.

why should i trust your recommendations?

Yes- I went there. Who am I among all the other healthy weirdos hollering at you to change your toxic Tide pods... Well for years I trained like a bodybuilder, ate “clean,” and looked healthy on the outside, but inside I didn’t feel balanced. That’s what led me down the path of questioning mainstream health advice and digging deeper into what really makes us feel good. Over time, I shifted into a low-toxin, intentional lifestyle, testing products, researching ingredients, and learning how small swaps can create big changes.

why did we write the crunchy crash course and why does it matter?

I wrote the Crunchy Crash Course because I know what a roller-coaster it is to sort through the endless “health and wellness” noise. One person says this ingredient is safe, another says it’s toxic; some products are marketed as healthy but hide ingredients you’d never want in your home. I wanted clear, research-based answers- not hype or fear-mongering. This guide is my way of cutting through the confusion and giving you straightforward, trustworthy information so you can make healthier choices with confidence.
